The Kalihi-Palama Community Health Seminar
The Kalihi-Palama Community Health Seminar is a two-semester course (Units 1, 2,
& 3) held every Tuesday morning 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, from August 26, 2003 through
May 4, 2004. The semester convenes at Kalihi-Palama Health Center's Learning
Center located at 1405 N. King Street in Room 301.

Student Qualifications
- Desire to work in an urban, underserved community such as Kalihi-Palama
- Desire to work with and learn from the multicultural, multilingual residents of this community
- Interest in conducting health education programs in a school setting
- Interest in gaining skills in multidisciplinary teamwork
- Commitment to participate in seminar for at least 4 hours/week
Student Selection Process
Interested students are asked to submit a current resume and call to schedule an interview with site
faculty in July. Brief interviews will also be scheduled during the JABSOM Community Medicine Fair in
July. However, because this will be a busy day, interested students are encouraged to call and arrange
for an interview with the KPHC site faculty prior to that date.
